WORKSHOP Empowering Women in the Workplace – A workshop for women and men

April 15th, 2021

As part of ICFO’s commitment to promoting and ensuring a working environment where individuals are treated with respect, equality and courtesy, we are very glad to offer you the workshop Empowering Women in the Workplace - A workshop for women and men.

As an evolution of the similar workshop offered two years ago, we have expanded the scope being offered now to the whole ICFO community. We firmly belief that the diversity of perspectives and contributions will be an added value to this workshop. Along the same lines, as stated in the title, both women and men are very welcomed to register.

The goal of this workshop is for participants to gain greater self-belief in their own ability, and greater confidence in asserting and negotiating their position in their team and other professional circles. Participants will develop a deeper understanding of how they relate to themselves and others. They will explore some common traps resulting from their own unconscious biases and self-limiting beliefs. They will become aware of their strengths and areas for improvement in order to reach their full potential.

April 15, 16 and 19 April 2021 - from 10:00 to 13:30.

Online via zoom. Link will be provided a few days before the workshop.

This is a highly interactive online training workshop with extensive elements of partner work, exercises, group discussion, and including some offline homework tasks. We use innovative online tools combined with proven didactic techniques to reproduce as much as possible a real workshop situation. We place a special emphasis on sharing and learning from participants’ own expertise and experience. To increase impact and applicability, we work with real-life cases from the participants whenever possible. Participants will be required to reserve time for individual preparatory work before the workshop, and between each session.

This workshop will focus on three connected elements on the path to becoming a more empowered professional. First, self-awareness about how I see myself and others, and how my own biases affect me. Second, understanding how to interact with others effectively. Third, practical tools to help me deal with the common challenges in my daily work, and take charge of my own development.

-Awareness about myself: Discovering unconscious biases / Limiting Beliefs and Empowering Beliefs / Understanding motivation.

-Interacting with others: Assertiveness/ Emotional Intelligence / Proactivity and self-belief/ Communication: basic principles.

-Tools for action: Effective listening / Effective, assertive feedback / How to say No / Delegating / Negotiating / Addressing conflicts / Networking / My personal action plan.
