SEMINAR: Detecting gravitational waves, dark matter and neutrinos in the precision lab
Abstract: I’ll present how different fundamental backgrounds of high relevance for our understanding of the Universe interact with laboratory devices. As a result, the frontier of metrology offers a fantastic opportunity to advance in some of the most pressing open problems of particle physics and cosmology. My aim is to describe some simple examples related to the detection of gravitational waves, dark matter and neutrinos to start a dialogue with different groups at ICFO interested in exploring how cosmological backgrounds may be detected in their laboratories of ultra-high precision.
